So here’s a Specialized tire that’s only $40 and claims puncture resistance. I will only ride MB — as opposed to commuting — occasionally. Would this be a satisfactory occasional use tire? (The bike is a Cannondale Bad Boy with a Fatty Ultra front fork.)

should be fine... looks like a nice thread
i wouldnt put too much faith in the puncture resistance tho.... i’ve found they still puncture just fine (course... im a puncture magnet... might just be my luck)

I have no idea about the tire, but I sure like the choice of bike! I seriously considered getting a Bad Boy, but since I already had a Super-V, I decided to get a road bike instead.

I had a bunch of these. they seem to work pretty well. Also watch the tread patterns as I believe front and rear patterns are different

Those should do well, the armadillo casing makes the tire more puncture resistant, heavier and roll not as well but it will add durability.

I should post a picture. The one I bought had/has 700 street tires on it and I use it for commuting. My MB buddy said it’s really a MB frame, so I can put MB tires on it and ride MB. There are boys at my church going on a big MB expedition this summer and they have a bunch of training rides between now and then and I thought I’d join the training rides. (I won’t be on the trek itself because I will be driving the support truck/trailer.)

Thanks. Is WTB a good brand? I don’t mind low end, but I don’t want to rock a crappy brand.

For a guy who weighs 240 and MB rides but once per month? I want a good brand, puncture resistance and the value price point. Keyword: sensible.

they aren’t cheap, they seem good to me. I dont compete and i really dont compare brands, its just what i’ve bought and i’ve never had anything dumb go wrong like tread falling apart.
